Did you see the bright light on 1-11-11? After supper, more than a few folks in our area saw an incredibly bright flash of light in the sky and then vanish, with the first reports coming from Copiah county. The internet exploded, with everyone trying to figure out what it was. The mystery has apparently been solved…it was a bolide meteor, that landed in Oklahoma.

The flash of the meteor exploding was reported in eight different states, including Florida, Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, North Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi and (of course) Oklahoma. Of course, as Robbie Hamilton said, usually that bright of a flash at night in the South is followed by a bang and the words “I hit it!”
